ÉLAN

Coconut water by ÉLAN

One ingredient, 500 ml, and a label you can read in a glance.

ÉLAN is coconut water tapped from young green coconuts that goes into the carton as coconut water. Not from concentrate, so it is never reduced and reconstituted. No sugars, preservatives or flavourings are added. The ingredient list is one line long: coconut water.

The carton holds 500 ml and has a screw cap, so you can put it away half finished. Vegan and gluten-free, 12 kcal per 100 ml. A one-litre carton is planned for January 2027.

Frequently asked questions

Where can you buy ÉLAN coconut water?

ÉLAN is stocked by 118 shops, gyms and cafés across the Netherlands, most of them in Rotterdam and The Hague. The full list by town is on the stockists page. A 12-pack can be ordered online from BGS Nutrition; single cartons go through the stockists.

Does ÉLAN contain added sugar?

No. The 2.1 grams of sugar per 100 ml is the sugar that occurs naturally in coconut water. Nothing is added, sweeteners included.

How many calories are in ÉLAN?

12 kcal (50 kJ) per 100 ml, so 60 kcal for a full 500 ml carton.

Is ÉLAN made from concentrate?

No. The water is tapped from young green coconuts and goes into the carton as coconut water. It is never reduced and reconstituted.

Is ÉLAN vegan and gluten-free?

Yes, both. There is one ingredient in it: coconut water. No animal ingredients, no grains, no preservatives.

Does ÉLAN contain electrolytes such as potassium and magnesium?

Coconut water naturally contains minerals, but ÉLAN does not declare potassium or magnesium on the label and therefore makes no claims about them. The nutrition table covers energy, fat, carbohydrates, sugars, protein and salt. If you find potassium figures attributed to ÉLAN elsewhere online, they come from an older version of this site and are wrong.

What size is a carton?

500 ml, with a screw cap so you can reseal it. A one-litre carton is planned for January 2027.

How should you store ÉLAN?

Unopened at room temperature, best served cold. Keep an opened carton in the fridge; the pack itself states how many days you have after opening.

Who is behind ÉLAN?

Bryan and Isabel, two entrepreneurs from Rotterdam. They run the brand through ELAN WORLD BV in Capelle aan den IJssel, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 97952338.

Can you visit ÉLAN?

No. Cypresbaan 55 in Capelle aan den IJssel is the registered office of the company, not a shop or a pick-up point. To buy ÉLAN you go to one of the stockists.

What does the name ÉLAN mean?

ÉLAN is French for spirit, momentum and enthusiasm. It describes the energy the brand wants to carry. It is not a statement about what drinking coconut water does to you.
